Who we are?

A degree qualified, multi disciplined engineer with over 40 years experience in Design & Project Management. Ian started his career in a design drawing office in 1974 and quickly progressed into Project Management in the early 80’s eventually realising his lifetime ambition of setting up, owning and running his own Company in 1994. A Leisure Design & Build Leisure Specialist, has delivered over £100M across the UK with projects differing in size from £100k to £10M.

Ian is now applying his experience, knowledge and enthusiasm into a Design led and Project Management offer through Omega design Consultants utilising his skill sets to assist anyone in the Leisure Sector in taking a conceptual idea and converting it into a reality.

Design is not always about form over function. Its about achieving the clients objectives in the most practical, cost effective way whilst maintaining the levels of creativity required.

Specify IT

Interpretation of the design and preparing the specifications are fundamental to a project’s success. At this early stage its important to remain flexible and open to ideas/suggestions that may benefit the project at a later stage whilst ensuring all the requirements are met.

Cost/Value Engineer IT

We believe that the costing process needs to be appropriate and accurate in the first instance in order to establish the quantum. It then needs to be revisited in a systematic and collaborative way in order to improve the value whilst still achieving the functionality.

Manage IT

Managing a project starts with the concept and continues until project completion. Its about good communication, sound advice and a logical approach. We manage this process throughout leaving the client to get on with running their business.

Deliver IT

Coordination is the key here. Working to a programme and ensuring that all trades/activities are delivered on time, meet the technical and quality objectives. We achieve this by keeping in regular contact, carrying out site visits and meetings to ensure that every aspect is covered, problem solving/decision making to ensure that the project remains on track and keeping the client aware at all times.

How We Do It

Whatever the project it all starts with an idea. We consult with you in order to form the brief and explore all of the options. Once we have a clearer picture of what you want, we carry out initial designs and cost estimates in order to establish affordability. We will then refine these designs through meetings/discussions to ensure that the brief has been met.

Fully integrated designs, scopes of works and fully costed schemes are then developed in readiness to proceed to procurement.

The procurement process consists of submitting Planning and Building regulations on your behalf, preparation and issuing of tenders, reviewing these tenders, recommendations, issuing contract documentation and dealing with all pre contract requirements.

Once on site, we Project Manage the contract from initial site set up to completion, monitoring progress, quality, Health & Safety, and carry out regular site audits on behalf of you, the client

It is equally important that costs are controlled, accounts agreed along with handover and training. All of these we will deal with on your behalf.

Our work doesn’t stop there and we will monitor, advise and procure works for you during the contractual defects period too.
